Emergency Care

No parent wants to picture their child in pain, but dental emergencies do happen. As kids grow and throw themselves into faster, more active play, the chance of an accidental injury grows right along with them.

A knock to the head or mouth can leave a tooth badly damaged and in need of prompt attention from a children's dental specialist. Whatever the emergency turns out to be, our team is here to help.

When it's an emergency

Some dental emergencies are easy to spot. Others take a little more judgment.

THE OBVIOUS ONES

Heavy bleeding from the mouth after an accidental blow to the face is a clear signal to seek out emergency children's dental care right away.

THE QUIET ONES

Jaw pain that keeps going with no apparent cause is easy to dismiss, yet it can point to a problem with your child's dental health.

If either of these sounds like your child, please call us to arrange an emergency appointment with Dr. Anu Korada.

Knocked-out tooth?

For any dental emergency, please call us as soon as you can at (778) 666-0703. We will be happy to talk you through the necessary steps, offer some reassurance, and arrange the earliest appointment we can for your child.

Never put a baby tooth back into the mouth. If the knocked-out tooth is a baby tooth, keep it out. Comfort your child and call us so the area can be looked at.

If it is an adult tooth:

1

Try to put the tooth back into place if you can. Gently, and only if it seats without forcing.

2

If it will not go back in, do not force it. Place the tooth in a small container or a ziplock bag with some cold milk instead.

3

Bring the tooth to our office as soon as you can. Call us on the way and we will be ready to help.
